GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The child and adolescent therapist provides cognitive behavioral therapy to children and adolescents that meet priority population services from Camino Real. Also, it provides social and behavior skills training for children and their families. Performs complex social services work including case management, parenting, crisis intervention, diagnostic assessments, and collaboration with community agencies. This position also involves communicating with a treatment team for the diagnosis and treatment of clients. Position requires extensive travel and may require use of personal vehicle. Must meet minimum standards and productivity.
Assists the Director in providing community education and consultation. Interagency collaboration is essential to this position. The job requires extensive travel for community-based service provision and flexible hours and schedule. Administratively reports directly to the C&A MH Director.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be eligible for the position:
- Master’s Degree in counseling or social work from an accredited college or university with a degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Human Services field plus licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW.
- Direct professional experience in social, behavioral, or human services.
- Must be CST certified within one year of hire date.
- Must have and maintain a current license in good standing in the State of Texas. Must be licensed as an LPC or LCSW.
- Must be able to be credentialed through various insurance panels.
PREFERRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Direct professional experience in social, behavioral, or human services including diagnostics.
- Experience as a case manager.
- Three (3) years professional experience in providing counseling services.
- Approved LPC supervisor certification.
- English/Spanish skills; demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English and Spanish.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of social work and/or counseling principles, theory, and methods.
- Knowledge of applied behavioral science and evidenced-based practices in Psychology.
- Knowledge in enhancing social, psychosocial, or bio psychosocial functioning of individuals, couples, families, groups, organizations, and communities.
- Knowledge in interviewing, assessment, and evaluation.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to plan, develop, and implement consumer services.
- Ability to work independently and organize work efficiently.
- Ability to supervise the work of others and provide guidance to other staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively, good written and verbal skills.
- Must have ability to work under conditions requiring physical stamina and ability to work in a stressful environment.
